Abram’s Big Journey

Genesis 11:27 - 12:9, 13:1-18

BIG IDEA: I can follow God’s call and be confident that He cares for me.

GET TALKING:

  • What did God tell Abram to do? (He told him it was time to move to the new land God would give him.)
  • Why do you think Abram chose to follow God’s call?
  • When we seek the kingdom of God, we try to learn more about God and obey Him. What are some ways that you can learn more about God? (Talk to Him. Read the Bible. Go to church.)
  • When is a time you need to remember one of God’s promises? (When I go to sleep at night. When someone disappoints me. When I feel sad or alone.)

CONNECTING TO JESUS: Abram is an important person in God’s great plan. God called him to be the beginning of a whole nation - a nation that God would use to give us the Bible AND to whom God would send His own Son, Jesus! Now we can trust God and become part of His family. It’s all because of what Jesus did for us!

ACTION PLAN: Identify God’s promises that give me confidence in His care now and for the future.

OCTOBER MEMORY VERSE:

"Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others." Philippians 2:4
