The Secrets of Influential Parenting

The Secrets of Influential Parenting

A fresh perspective to families who desire

Close POSITIVE relationships

Modern parenting is an endless cycle of expectations and consequences.  This works for children who need the safety of an "instruction manual". But adolescents have "read the manual" and are ready to try it out on their own.  The vast majority don't feel they can live up to their parent's expectations, so they stop trying.

But 69% still indicate that they want MORE involvement from their parents. The Secrets of Influential Parenting can show you how to drop the expectation and the opposition that goes with it, and start gaining influence in your 8-22 year old’s life.

Book of Ephesians

Wednesdays at 6:30 pm

Led & Hosted by Maureen Hartman

Located in southeast PA

Has it ever dawned on you that nothing has ever dawned on God? He knew before the world began that His people would face hardship, so He gave us His Word. The Book of Ephesians is a survival manual—it equips believers to thrive in a world that hates the message of Jesus Christ. Paul the Apostle writes to encourage believers to live well—we've been lifted from the graveyard of sin and called to shout the gospel into the darkened world.

Pastor and author J.D. Greear walks through the powerful words of Paul. In 9 sessions, J.D. digs into the text of Ephesians verse-by-verse and challenges believers to live out the gospel. If the people of your city, of your school, of your family are going to hear the gospel, it's going to be from your mouth. Encounter Ephesians, and get swept up into the story of Jesus.

All materials will be handed out at the first meeting.

Reclaiming the Truth of who we are in Christ

Who am I? It's a question we all ask ourselves at some point. Depending on the season we focus our identity on our job performance, marital status, personality type, or social network, among other options. However, there's a larger question to consider. Who does the Bible tell me I am in Christ? From the wisdom and perspective of insightful authors-including Jen Wilkin, Hannah Anderson, and Jen Pollock Michel-we'll seek to answer this question by: Exposing our false notions of identity; Understanding the biblical truth of our identity in Christ; and Reflecting on what it looks like to live in our new (and true) identity. In 10 chapters we'll cover everything from our identity as children of God to citizens of heaven. At the end of each chapter, study questions will facilitate group discussion as you consider this glorious truth with your friends. Join us as we explore how knowing who we are in Christ changes every aspect of our lives.

As we do our best to navigate life, it can be easy to miss out on Gods best for us.  In this group we will be God’s best with 3 goals in mind:

  • Building trust with other Men.

  • Developing a discipline of regular quiet time with God.

  • Being prayed for and praying for other men specifically.

We will be using a tool called the Thred Journal.  Do you not like to Journal? Same here! This is not about journaling, but more about reflecting on your time with God and putting it on paper to help retain and recall God’s work in you.
